BANDANA is a free tool for indie bands, jam session hosts, and venue owners and operators to manage scheduling, song libraries, set lists, live sessions, and venue bookings. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use BANDANA:

• Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up.
• Band and song data — bands, songs, set lists, events, recordings, and jam session information you create within the app.
• Venue information — venue name, city, address, description, and booking details when a venue is listed on BANDANA, whether created by an owner or imported for the directory.
• Booking request data — information bands submit through venue booking forms (name, contact details, requested dates, and custom form answers), which is shared with the venue to process the request.
• Venue claim verification — the email address and name provided when claiming a venue, used to confirm and associate the claim with a venue owner account.
• Usage data — anonymized analytics about how you interact with BANDANA, collected via Google Analytics.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use BANDANA so we can improve the experience. Google Analytics collects anonymized data such as pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region. It uses cookies stored in your browser to distinguish unique visitors.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.

Authentication Cookies

When you log in, BANDANA stores a session cookie in your browser to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential for the app to function and is not used for tracking or advertising. It expires when you log out or after an extended period of inactivity.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain the BANDANA service.
• To improve the user experience based on anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Marketing Communications

Data Sharing

We only share data with service providers that help us operate BANDANA, such as our hosting and analytics providers. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not sell or rent your information to any third party.

Venue Listings & Claims

Venues may be listed on BANDANA before an owner joins. These listings can be claimed by the venue's owner or operator, giving them control over the listing.

Directory listings are compiled only from publicly available information found online, such as a venue's own website, social pages, or public event listings. BANDANA does not invent or fabricate venue details, and does not include private or non-public information.

Owners and operators can delete their venue at any time, which removes the listing from BANDANA and deletes the associated venue data.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings within the app. Once deleted, your account and data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Venue owners can also delete their venue listing (and its data) independently from the venue settings; any booking submissions bands made to that venue are removed with it.
