Guides
Short, current, step-by-step. Each guide starts with the one-sentence answer, then the steps. If something here does not match what you see in the app, tell us — it means we shipped a change and missed the doc.
For Bands
Songs, set lists, recordings, rehearsals, and gigs.
- Create a band and invite membersCreate a band from the Dashboard using the Create Band button, then invite members from the band's Members tab.
- Add songs, lyrics, and chordsAdd a song from the band's Songs tab, then open it and add lyrics and chords by pasting text, uploading a file, or using AI extraction.
- Transpose a song into a different keyOpen the song and use the transpose buttons — every chord shifts together, up to twelve semitones in either direction.
- Build and share a set listCreate a set list from the band's Set Lists tab, add songs from your library, and drag them into order. Use the maybe section for songs you have not committed to.
- Record and share rehearsal audioRecord from the song itself using the inline mic button, or upload an existing audio file. Recordings attach to the song and appear wherever it does.
- Schedule rehearsals with time votingCollect each member's availability, review the heatmap, curate a few candidate time slots, publish them, and let the band vote to finalize the rehearsal.
- Save a stage plot and send it to a venueSave your stage plot as a band setup once, then add that setup to a gig page. Files are copied into the event so old gigs never break.
- Work a gig page with the venueA gig page is the shared advance for a show. The venue publishes the run of show and logistics; your band fills in its bio, setup, photos, and guest list.
- Send a booking request to a venueOpen the venue's booking form on their website, pick from the dates the venue has marked open, and submit. Signed-in bands have their details pre-filled.
- Share a song outside the bandUse the share button next to a song to get a public link. The viewer can transpose for themselves without changing your band's version.
- Export a song as a printable PDFUse the PDF download button on a song. The export uses the key currently displayed, so transpose first, then export.
For Venues
Booking, gig pages, open mics, embeds, and tickets.
- Set up a venue and add your staffCreate a venue from the Dashboard using the Create Venue button. You become the owner, and you invite staff using reusable role invite codes.
- Open dates and review booking requestsDates are open by default. Close individual dates that are unavailable or already filled, and set recurring weekly closures for nights you never book. Then review requests on the date they were submitted for and approve or decline.
- Build your booking form and put it on your websiteOpen your venue's Info tab and scroll to Form Fields to build the form, then use the Copy Booking Link button or the Embed Form button to share it.
- Embed your ticketed event calendar on your websiteCopy the event calendar embed snippet into your website. It lists only BANDANA tix ticketed events, so it only works once BANDANA tix is set up for the venue.
- Create a gig page and run the advanceCreate an event on the date, add the approved bands to the bill, and publish the run of show. Each band fills in its own bio, setup, photos, and guest list.
- Run an open mic or open jamCreate a jam session from your venue's Sessions tab, pick the night's format, and set the recurring schedule. Performers sign up from their phones.
- Style your public pages and embedsOpen your venue's Info tab and find the Public Page Styling card, then set background colors, accent colors, and a font combination. Public pages and embeds pick it up.
- BANDANA tix: selling ticketsBANDANA tix is available to every venue. Tickets are sold from a page you design, with payouts going to your own connected Stripe account and a flat 25 cent BANDANA fee per ticket.
