What is a guest list?
A guest list is the set of names a venue admits without charge for a show, usually allocated in a limited amount to each band on the bill and collected by the venue before doors open.
On a multi-band bill the venue sets a total and divides it between the acts. Names are given to the door in advance so entry is quick and the count is controlled.
Guest list spots are a real cost to the room. Padding the list is one of the fastest ways for a band to wear out a booking relationship.
