    What is an input list?

An input list is a numbered list of every audio source a band needs at the mixing desk — each microphone, DI, and line — so the engineer knows exactly how many channels the act uses.

An input list is read top to bottom in the order the engineer will patch: usually drums first, then bass, guitars, keys, and vocals last.

Each line names the source and the type of input, for example "4 — Overheads, condenser pair" or "9 — Lead vocal, SM58".
