    Venue directory

Find a venue. Ask for a date.

This is a directory of indie music venues in the US. Every listing shows the room's city, capacity, website and a shot of its homepage, and links straight to a booking form. No need to scour the venue's calendar and hunt for an email address ahead of time, because you'll only see open dates available to book on the form. Filter by state, city, room size, or date availability. Browsing is free and no account is needed.

182 venues listed · 181 with open dates in the next 60 days.

    How booking through BANDANA works

What is the BANDANA venue directory?

It's a free, public list of indie and independent music venues across the US. Every listing shows the room's city, capacity, a shot of the venue's homepage and a count of the dates it currently has open, and links straight to that venue's booking form. It exists so a band can find a stage without cold-emailing rooms one by one.

How is this different from looking up a venue's own website?

Venue sites all present booking differently, and most bury the contact form behind a calendar you have to read yourself. The directory puts city, capacity and open nights into one comparable format and sends your request straight to the venue's BANDANA booking inbox, so you skip hunting for the right email address.

Which venues and cities are included?

Indie and independent rooms across the US — bars, clubs, breweries, DIY spaces, listening rooms, nonprofit arts centers and mid-size halls, from under-100-capacity rooms to 800-plus. There are six regional pages today: NYC, the Tri-State area, New England, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. The list is growing, so it isn't a complete map of every venue in the country.

Can I filter the directory by location, capacity or date?

Yes. You can search by name, pick one or more states and cities, choose a capacity band (under 100, 100–300, 300–800, 800+), and either set a date range or select specific nights. The date filter defaults to the next 60 days and can be widened up to six months out.

Is the directory free for bands?

Yes. Browsing listings and sending a date request through a venue's BANDANA booking form is free, with no card and no trial period. It always has been.

Do I need an account to browse or to book?

No account is needed to browse. You'll need a free BANDANA account to see a venue's direct booking contact details, and a booking request only reaches the venue once the sender is signed in — if you submit while signed out, you confirm it by clicking the link BANDANA emails you.

What does "open dates" mean on a listing?

It's the number of bookable nights inside the window you've picked — the next 60 days by default — based on the nights that venue takes bookings, minus any dates already marked closed on its BANDANA calendar.

How current is the venue and open-date information?

Open dates are usually set and kept current by BANDANA, based on the booking nights each venue publishes on its own site, and re-checked on a weekly pass. A venue that claims its BANDANA listing can edit its own open dates, close nights and add shows at any time. Capacity, city and the homepage shot are compiled the same way and refreshed on that weekly pass, so confirm production specifics with the venue when you send a request.

How do I request a date at a venue I find here?

Open the venue's listing and hit "Request a date" to reach its booking form. The form only offers nights the venue has open, so you're never asking for a date that's already gone. Requests land in the venue's BANDANA booking inbox and the venue replies to you directly — BANDANA doesn't take a cut and can't promise a yes. You can send one request per venue per week.

How does a venue get listed in the directory?

Two ways, both free. BANDANA builds listings from publicly available information and the operator can claim theirs to take over the details, calendar and booking form. Or a venue signs up directly and creates its own listing. Either way BANDANA reviews a listing before it's published.
